The surveys

Q: How will I find out about surveys?
A: We’ll send you an email invitation with a unique link to a survey. On occasions we will also send out reminder emails near to the survey closing date. You can also log in to the members area of our website using the Username (your email address) and Password you registered with, and select the Today’s Surveys menu.

Q: How often will I receive questionnaires?
A: We appreciate the time you provide in giving feedback, so we don’t send all surveys out to every panel member. We aim to send members a maximum of one survey a week and at least once a month.

Q: Do I need to fill in all the questionnaires?
A: No - participation in each survey is completely voluntary and members can unsubscribe from the panel at any time.

Q: Can I complete the same survey more than once?
A: No - this would unfairly affect or bias the survey results so it is not possible.

Q: How long will I have to complete the questionnaires after I get an email?
A: This will vary, but will be made clear for each survey. If you try to access a survey which has closed you will be told as soon as you try to complete it so you won’t waste any time.

Q: What happens if I have to stop filling in a questionnaire before I get all the way through?
A: If you have to stop and close the survey before finishing it, don’t worry, simply click back on the link that you have been sent and as long as the survey is still open, you will be able to finish it. Any previous answers will be saved, so you won’t need to re-answer all of the questions.

Q: How long will the surveys be?
A: We try to keep our surveys short. If a survey is much longer than normal, we may offer an extra incentive as a way of saying thank you for giving us more of your time.

Q: What will the results of the surveys be used for?
A: All the feedback from surveys will go towards making improvements to products and services, helping to inform television programme makers and schedulers, or helping to understand the audience better.

Panel membership: What’s it all about?

You will be invited to take part in a number of surveys on a range of topics including television shows, current issues, new products and much more. We don’t want to take too much of your time, so we will usually try to limit surveys to a maximum of 1 a week.

Q: How do I become a panel member?
A: It’s very easy to join the panel - just click on the button on the home page and fill in the relevant details.

Q: Will registration or being a member cost me anything?
A: No - you will not be asked to pay for anything.

Q: What sorts of people are on the ScotPulse panel?
A: All sorts! Anyone can join, so long as they are aged 16 or over and live in Scotland. We want to make sure that ScotPulse really does represent all different types of people across the country.

Q: Can more than one member of my household be on the panel?
A: Yes, so long as each one has a different email address.

Q: How do I leave the ScotPulse panel?
A: You’ll find an unsubscribe option on every email and on the website. Please note that it can sometimes take a few days for this to be processed. In accordance with data protection legislation and the Code of the Market Research Society, all your personal details will be deleted.

The prizes, rewards and incentives for filling in ScotPulse questionnaires

Q: What sort of rewards are there?
A: All the people who complete a questionnaire will be entered into the monthly prize draw for that month. Details of the prize will be posted on the website. There will also be thank you incentives and occasional special project prize draws.

Q: What are my chances of winning?
A: We aim to send members a maximum of one survey a week and at least one a month.

Q: How do I collect my prize if I win a prize draw?
A: Winners of prize draws will be notified by email and delivery of prize will be within 8 weeks of the confirmation email.

Technical stuff about becoming and being a panel member

Q: If I am having trouble accessing questionnaires what do I do?
A: If you are having trouble with the links you are emailed, you should try logging on to your page on the ScotPulse website. If this doesn’t work, please contact us!

Q: I’ve forgotten my username?
A: Your username is your email address.

Q: What do I do if I forget my password?
A: Go to the home page and click on My Account and then click on the Forgotten Password link. You will be sent an email enabling you to reset your password. Please note that the link in the email will time out after one hour.

Q: How do I change my email address?
A: Please email info@scotpulse.com to change your email address

Q: How do I update my details?
A: Log in to the website via My Account then click on the My Profile tab and choose the details you want to update.
